
WILLIAMSBURG — Margery Carter Williams Ludwig, 91, passed away the evening of Tuesday, April 20, 2021. She was the daughter of Charles Lifsey Williams Sr. and Elizabeth Smith Williams, both deceased.
A native of Richmond, she was a psychology graduate of the University of North Carolina. She pursued a career as a human resource professional, and later, a teacher, before marriage and raising her family. Mrs. Ludwig, a lifelong Episcopalian, most recently, a member of Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg. She was active in the Colonial Dames Virginia Chapter, League of Women Voters and the genealogist at The Page-Nelson Society.
A history buff, she had been a volunteer interpreter at Colonial National Historic Park in Yorktown, Historic Jamestowne for Preservation Virginia, and concert usher and historic guide at Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Richard Marshall Ludwig.
She is survived by three daughters, Madge Ludwig of Centre Hall, Pennsylvania, Helen Nelson Ludwig, and her fiancé, Stephen Spence, of Louisa and Elizabeth Marshall Ludwig Radovsky of Mechanicsville; three granddaughters, Sarah Moussavi, Ariana Moussavi and Jamie Marshall Williams; as well as two great-grandchildren, Olivia Ariana Ludwig and Dylan Carter Ludwig. She was greatly loved by them all.
No memorial service will be held. A private burial will be held at a later date in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond.
