WILLIAMSBURG — Page Aleshire Boye, 101, passed away peacefully Monday, April 19, 2021.

She was born March 14, 1920, at Fort Riley, Kansas, to Col. Joseph and Eleanor Aleshire. Born into a military family, she was used to frequent transfers to Army posts in her early years. She met her husband, Freddie, a recent West Point graduate, at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. They were married Oct. 19,1940. A few months later in the early years of World War II, he left for England to prepare for six beach landings in Africa and Italy. She remained with her two sisters in Evanston, Illinois.

During the more than 30 years of Freddie’s military assignments to 14 different places, including Germany; Saigon, Vietnam; and Ankara, Turkey, Page easily adapted, made friends, played golf, tennis, bridge and volunteered. Freddie retired from the Army in 1971 to a home they built on a golf course in Beaufort, South Carolina. The slow pace of the south was a great relief from the active military life and she took full advantage tutoring students and playing golf and tennis. They remained in Beaufort for 25 years. In 1997, Page and Freddie moved to Williamsburg Landing in Williamsburg. They very much appreciated the lifestyle there with planned transitions from house to apartment, to assisted living, and finally, nursing.

Page is survived by her two sons, Frederic W. Boye III, and his wife, Leslie, of Williamsburg and Brooks A. Boye, and his wife, Martha, of Boerne, Texas; grandchildren, Brian Boye, Allison Boye, William Boye, Dabney Keith, Kathleen McCready and America Hottle, and their spouses: and nine great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the medical and nursing staff of Williamsburg Landing.

Burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bruton Parish Church Foundation, P.O. Box 3520, Williamsburg, VA 23187.

Share online condolences with the family at Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Service.
