Ronald “Ronnie” Ford (Altmeyer Funeral Home)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald “Ronnie” Ford, who left this world on March 1, 2023, at the age of 68. Ronnie was a devoted father and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ronnie was born in 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to Herbert and Rosalie Ford. Ronnie had a wild and adventurous youth, filled with unforgettable experiences and lifelong friendships. He was a rolling stone and lived a beautiful life. His travels took him hitch-hiking through the United States and even landed him a role in a Hollywood film! He lived life to the fullest and never let anything hold him back from exploring all that the world had to offer.

But above all else, Ronnie loved being a father to his amazing daughter. He cherished every moment spent with her and was immensely proud of her accomplishments. His love, support, and guidance were instrumental in shaping the person she is today, and his legacy will continue to live on through her and all those who knew him. Throughout his life, Ronnie touched the hearts of many people with his kindness, generosity, and positivity. He will be remembered for his warm smile, his gentle spirit, and his unwavering commitment to those he loved.

Ronnie was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Brenda and Jewel, and his niece Kimberly. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Samantha; his son-in-law Frank; the love of his life Susan; his nephew Randy and his wife Christy; his nephew Robert “Bobbie”; his nephew Christopher; his great-nieces and nephews Darian, Haley, and Koby; and many, many friends including Johnny, Cam, and Frank W. to name a few.

Although Ronnie is no longer with us, his legacy will live on through his daughter and all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, and his memory will always be cherished by those who loved him. May Ronnie rest in peace, knowing that he left the world a better place than he found it and that his legacy will continue to inspire others to live life to the fullest and spread joy wherever they go.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Dr. in Virginia Beach.
