Kurtis Vogel, 38, while surrounded by his loving family, lost his valiant battle against cancer on March 5, 2023. Kurtis was born in New York to Raymond and Dianne Vogel on July 23, 1984.
Kurtis was a great patrol officer, moving quickly up the ranks to Master Police Officer and ultimately to the position of detective. As a police officer he dedicated his time and service to the community, citizens and his family until the day of his passing. Kurtis also served his country proudly in the US Army. While not serving his community and country, Kurtis loved to hang out with his family and travel. Spending time watching all kinds of movies and playing video games with his son. Kurtis was a hero to many. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed deeply.
Left to cherish his loving memory is his wife, Brianne Vogel; children, Kayden and Kaia; parents, Raymond and Dianne Vogel; siblings, Vanessa, Christian, Candice and Felicia; many more extended family members and friends.
His celebration of life will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel (5033 Rouse Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23462) with friends gathering an hour prior at 4 p.m. Kurtis will be laid to rest at Albert G Horton Jr Memorial Veterans Cemetery (5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434) the following day, Monday, March 20, at 2 p.m.
