Gordon “Scott” Thomas, Sr., aged 66, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia. Born on May 4, 1960, in Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late Gordon and Esther Thomas.
Gordon devoted his professional life to his work as a pipefitter, where he demonstrated unwavering diligence and expertise throughout his career. His dedication to his trade was admired by colleagues and all who had the pleasure of working with him.
He leaves behind his cherished wife, Kim Thomas, who stood by his side through life’s journey. Gordon’s legacy lives on through his loving children: daughters Brielle Thomas (Nathan), Breanna Bacon (James), Deeanna Thomas, and Ashley Hogan (Jordan); and sons Brandon Strong and Scottie Thomas (Kristy). He is also survived by his siblings, Lori Golden, Kathy Thomas, Jeff Thomas, and ten grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Maestas Chapel, located at 1801 Baltic Ave, Virginia Beach, VA. A funeral ceremony honoring Gordon’s life will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at the same location, with Military Honors rendered in recognition of his service. He will be laid to rest on a later date at Albert G. Horton, Jr. National Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
