Wanda Krall (Altmeyer Funeral Home)

Wanda Krall, a woman of extraordinary strength, courage, spirit and inspiring presence, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026, at the age of 70, after an illness she faced with enduring grace.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 5, 1955, Wanda’s journey through life was defined by her warmth, wit, unwavering faith and beautiful smile. She firmly believed that a smile increases your face value!

Wanda graduated from Fort Hamilton High School and studied Business Administration at Pace University. She later moved to Norfolk with her family in 1975. She worked as a baker for 20 years before building a fulfilling career as an Inventory Specialist at Walgreens, where her work ethic and attention to detail shone brightly. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether tending to her garden, exploring the scenic beauty of America and Canada, creating dazzling diamond art, or shopping (especially at Home Goods!), each moment was an opportunity for reflection and creativity. A lover of word searches, she embraced the quiet challenge of finding hidden words, much like how she discovered beauty in the world around her.

Her playful spirit was evident in her admiration for all hummingbirds, butterflies and animals in general—tiny miracles she would pause to admire, reminding us all to appreciate life’s fleeting wonders. Wanda’s sweet spirit and unforgettable personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Meeting her was to encounter an angel on earth, whose presence enriched the lives of all fortunate to know her.

Wanda met Chad on December 10, 2009 and the two wed on January 5, 2013. Wanda and Chad found a welcoming spiritual community at Chalice Christian Church in Virginia Beach, where they attended together, enveloped in love and acceptance. Wanda’s deep faith was not only a cornerstone of her life but also evident in the way she carried herself, offering kindness, understanding, and compassion to everyone she encountered.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Henry and Eleanor. Wanda leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Chad; her cherished children, Richard (Heidi), Christopher (Jess); stepchildren, Wyatt, Sierra, and Carsen; her siblings, Robert and Kristina; her mother-in-law, Ramona; her sister-in-law, Mona; her brother-in-law, Ron; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, friends and her cats, Moon and Star.

Wanda Krall will be loved and cherished forever, her life a beautiful testament to the power of faith, love, and the enduring spirit of family. Her infectious smile added brightness to the lives of so very many.
