Rodney Wade Richardson, 64, Remembered for His Keen Wit and Compassionate Spirit

WILLIAMSBURG — Rodney Wade Richardson, 64, peacefully passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.

Rodney was born Sept. 15, 1956, in Williamsburg to Robert and Mary Richardson. A lifelong resident of Williamsburg and graduate of Lafayette High, Rodney went on to become an excellent custom builder, truck driver, and logger.

Rodney had a passion for watching westerns and the New York Yankees, alongside his father. Rodney was most at peace and enjoyed spending time at the Richardson property, Blackstump.

Rodney was known for his heart of gold and for helping anyone in need. He will always be remembered for his witty personality and kind, compassionate spirit.

Rodney was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; and brother, Eric.

He is survived by his father, Robert; two children, Nicholas and Alexandria; grandchildren, McKenzie and Angelina; brother, Robby; sister, Kelly; niece, Dolores; and many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Katie.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, at James River Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. with funeral services to follow.
