HAMPTON — Thomas James Ehrenberger, 86, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to the late Frank J. and Josephine C. Ehrenberger, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1954 to 1957. During his military career, he was stationed at Scott AFB in Illinois and Bordeaux AFB in France. He learned about ground radio repair and microwave maintenance, which led to a career in the electronics defense industry. For many years, he enjoyed having a home at Nags Head in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank; and son, Tommy.
Thomas is survived by his companion of 35 years, Linda Lee, and her son, Marc (Stacey); children, John (Betsy), Tracie Mattison (Parnell), Julie Stern and Suzie Rabey (Brett); and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 16, at Weymouth Funeral Home with visitation to follow. Burial will be held at a later date.
