NEWPORT NEWS — Mary Michelle Dailey, 54, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020. Her passing was unexpected. She was laughing and loving her family and friends only hours before, and she will be sorely missed by all.
Michelle was a special person. She loved deeply, and she was loved deeply. Michelle would just shine brightly from the inside out. The following are from her friends and family. “I can’t imagine not seeing her smiling face or not hearing her laugh.” “A beautiful soul with a contagious smile.” “Every single time I was with Michelle my day was better for her presence.” “One of our kindest and sweetest classmates of the 1984 Bethel High School class.” “Literally the nicest person I’ve ever met.” Words cannot express how much we will miss her.
Michelle would light up the Monday Night Bible Studies with her smile. Throughout her life, she held an unwavering faith in God and was a beautiful example of Christ to others. Everyone loved Michelle; it was just fun to be where ever she was. She had a most wonderful sense of humor and personality. She was compassionate. She not only hurt for you, she hurt with you. She was the best of daughters, the best of sisters, the best of friends.
Michelle was born to Steve and Mary Rene Dailey Sept. 2, 1966, in Hampton. She trained and became a court stenographer for many years. For the last 10 years, Michelle was a Deputy Clerk at Newport News Civil Court where she was considered a jewel, hard worker, smart, team player, and she was loved by everyone with whom she worked.
Michelle was preceded by her father, James Stephen; uncle, Barney Payne; maternal grandparents, Randolph Marvin and Mary Martha Payne; and paternal grandparents, Gerald and Henrietta Dailey.
She is survived by her parents, Mary Rene and Eugene Argabright; brother, Jimmy Dailey, and his wife, Karen; and sisters, Leigh Argabright Barker (Bill) and Misty Argabright Kiser (Lance). She was a wonderful and loving aunt to Russel (Megan), Zach (Alyson), Daniel (Lauren), Kayla (Dustin), Andrew (Becca) and Rowan.
Michelle also leaves many dear and close friends who will cherish her memory, but especially Teresa Bracey and Lisa Holland.
Services for Michelle will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Congregation Zion’s Sake, 1233 Shields Road, Newport News. Congregation Zion’s Sake’s facilities are large and seating is arranged to accommodate social distancing. The facility is regularly disinfected using professional equipment to aid in the prevention of COVID-19. Burial will be private.
