Myra June Fuller, 78, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017, at her home in Yorktown, Va. She was born in Alabama, grew up in Carrollton, Ga., and was a resident of the Peninsula for 56 years.
She worked as a teacher for the Newport News Public Schools at Dutrow Elementary for 22 years. She was a longtime member of Menchville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Macon Fuller; mother, Geneva Estelle Fuller; and brother, Larry Maurice Fuller.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Dennis Emanuel Fuller; three sons, Scott Fuller (Melanie), Jonathan Mark Fuller (Vea) and Jamey Fuller (Kim); six grandchildren, Jordan, Matthew, Melissa, Stephanie, Hannah (Tommy) and Denny; and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Rayne.
She is remembered for her love of family, and most of all, her dedication to her beloved husband. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved nothing better than spending a sunny afternoon in their company.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at Menchville Baptist Church.
