Mary “Traci” Anderson, 54, completed her life’s journey on February 12, 2016, at her home.
Traci was born in Pirmasens, Germany, on March 8, 1961, and was adopted by her ever-doting parents, Ret. Lt. Col. Loren and Mary Anderson, on March 10, 1961.
An accomplished gymnast and scholar, she graduated from Walsingham Academy in 1979, attended James Madison University and graduated from Christopher Newport University in 1983 with a degree in business management. She worked for several years as a restaurant manager at Kingsmill Resort and Conference Center, where her staff adored her.
She approached life with uncanny wit and with the eye of an artist. Traci traveled the world with her military family and continued her passion for exploring new places while on cruises with her family. Her love of cats, smart retorts, Busch Gardens, CSI, roller coasters, German food, Bud Light and Diet Pepsi was unmatched.
She was preceded in death by her brother, David. She will be missed, but remembered with both tears and laughter by her parents; brother, Jay; sister, Valerie (Daly); brother-in-law, Alan; and lifelong friends, Mindy Swedenburg and Tina Bridges.
A memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, at Saint Bede’s Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA, 23188. Interment will follow services in Saint Bede’s Catholic Church Columbarium.
Donations may be made in Traci’s honor to the Saint Bede’s Catholic Church Building Fund.
A Celebration of Traci’s Life will be held and announced at a later date.
Please express condolences to the family at Nelsen Funeral Home.
