Michael Neil “Mike” Firth, 61, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding and enjoyed playing the guitar for most of his life.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, John Wilton Firth. He is survived by his mother, Carrie Firth; brothers, James Firth and Bruce Firth; sisters, Carrie Selby, Frances Messick and Arlene Sauve; and many nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday, February 19, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, immediately followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. officiated by Pastor David Price. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton. At other times, the family will be at Arlene’s home, 15 Church St., Poquoson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, and/or to the American Diabetes Association.
