Williamsburg, VA 23185
No one was hurt Friday evening after a small fire on the 5100 block of John Tyler Highway in James City County. The fire happened at a house located on the same property as the Crosswalk Church.
According to the James City County Police Department, emergency workers received a 911 call at 5:01 p.m. reporting smoke coming out of the house.
Police say Dominion Energy was working on a power outage at the church when the fire broke out. Police say a worker saw smoke and called 911.
When crews arrived, they were able to put the fire out immediately.
Upon investigation, emergency workers discovered a broken water pipe.
Officials say they had to shut the main water off at the church and the home in order to do repairs.
The fire is under investigation.
