NEWPORT NEWS — The Great Food Truck Festival returns Saturday with more than 20 food and beverage vendors, DJ sets and 1990s-themed activities at Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport.

The ninth annual festival, scheduled for noon to 6 p.m.  will include retro arcade games, trivia, bingo, a dance competition and a Best Dressed Contest. Christine Lakin, who played Al Lambert on ABC’s “Step by Step,” will serve as a guest judge for the contest. The winner will receive $100, and VIP ticket holders will have an opportunity to meet Lakin.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1990s-inspired clothing, including plaid flannel shirts and color-block windbreakers.

“This is our ninth year producing the Great Food Truck Festival, and we wanted this year to feel like more than just a food festival,” said Shannon Combs, owner of Lux Events LLC, the Hampton Roads-based company producing the festival. “The 90s theme gives us an opportunity to bring together great food, nostalgia, and experiences that adults and families can enjoy throughout the entire day.”

Tickets and information are available at luxeventsva.com/events.
