Police: Driver thrown from SUV in Virginia Beach crash Tuesday night

VIRGINIA BEACH — A person was seriously injured after flipping their SUV and being thrown from it in Virginia Beach Tuesday night.

The single-car crash happened near the 100 block of Oceana Boulevard and the 200 block of First Colonial Road around 9:10 p.m. Police say the driver was traveling north in a Chevrolet Tahoe when they lost control of the car and it rolled over.

The person was thrown from the SUV and taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released the name of the driver.

The crash is under investigation by the Virginia Beach Police Department’s fatal accident team.
