Nike Outlet Employee Allegedly Embezzled Thousands in Merchandise, Discounts

A James City County man was arrested Monday after he allegedly embezzled more than $4,000 in merchandise and discounts from the Nike Outlet at the Premium Outlets.

William Bradley Thompson, a 19-year-old who worked at the store, has been charged with two felonies: embezzlement and conspiracy to commit embezzlement. Maj. Stephen Rubino of the James City County Police Department said the offenses occurred between Nov. 1 and June 17. The store’s management contacted police.

Rubino said Thompson allegedly gave free merchandise and discounts to three people, for whom Rubino said charges may be forthcoming. He said they allegedly received the items and discounts. It is unknown if any of the merchandise was recovered.

No other employees are suspected of being involved in the embezzlement.
