The Virginia Department of Transportation has canceled overnight test lifts of the Route 17 James River Bridge that had been scheduled for Thursday.
The lifts would have been routine maintenance for the bridge, which connects Newport News with Isle of Wight County. VDOT said the cancellation is due to a change in the work schedule. The work will be done at a later date.
