JCC Police Investigate Gunfire Near Grad Party

James City County Police are investigating after several gunshots were reported Sunday near a high school graduation party on Little Creek Dam Road.

Maj. Stephen Rubino of the James City County Police Department said unwanted guests turned up at the graduation party around 1 a.m. Sunday morning and were told to leave. As they were leaving, a fight reportedly broke out down the street from the house where the party was held and gunshots were heard.

Rubino said people from the party took off running and the people involved in the fight were gone before police arrived. One female at the party had to be treated for an asthma attack, though nobody else was hurt.

Police have not yet determined whether the fight and gunshots are connected with the disagreement at the party.

There are no descriptions of any suspects and nobody has been arrested. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP (888-562-5887).
