Local Real Estate Firm’s Founder Embraces New CEO

VIRGINIA BEACH — The Breeden Company, a nationally-recognized real estate development firm based in Virginia Beach, is switching leadership after 60 years of continued business.

The company announced that its President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ramon W. Breeden, Jr. has passed his title and responsibilities to the company’s former Chief Operating Officer (COO) Tim Faulkner.

The Breeden Company was established in 1961 by Ramon W. Breeden, Jr., and shortly thereafter began building single-family homes, apartments, and shopping centers around the Hampton Roads region.

According to a release published by the company, “Today, Breeden boasts a team of 425 and has owned, managed, or developed more than 15,000 apartments, 1,700 single-family homes, and more than 2 million square feet of retail and office space.”

The business holds commercial properties in Yorktown, Portsmouth, Newport News, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Carrollton, and Richmond.

Faulkner will be taking on his new role with the company after already having a career spanning more than 20 years with The Breeden Company.
