65 years ago this month, David and Shirley Henderson founded our company, Henderson, Inc. and started what has become a proud and now third generation family business in the Williamsburg community. Over the years, we have been involved in countless projects that have helped shape Williamsburg and the surrounding areas, from our first project, the City of Williamsburg’s water tower foundation, to many projects at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg Landing, the New Town development, Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens, just to name a few.
Our company motto, going “Beyond the Building”, originated with Mr. Henderson and is upheld by our core values of integrity, quality, relationships and safety. We strive everyday to uphold these four intangible ideas with tangible actions, in the way we do business, how we treat our team members and our dedication to our local community.
Over the years, we have come to realize that the core of our success stems from the relationships we’ve formed and the trust we’ve built. From our subcontractors and suppliers, design partners, county and city officials, financial partners, and clients, to the citizens of our community who continue to support the businesses we build – each of you has played a part in our success and we hope that we have contributed to yours as well.
Our 65th anniversary message is one of gratitude to our community for helping us get to where we are today. So, we say THANK YOU to greater Williamsburg for your support, it truly means the world to us, and we are forever grateful for your friendship! Our hope for the next 65 years and beyond is to continue the legacy Mr. Henderson left us and ensure we keep going “Beyond the Building” for the community we’re so proud to be a part of.
