Welton C. ‘Webb’ Redcross, 53, employed with Suburban Disposal Company

God, in His infinite wisdom, called home for eternal rest our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Welton C. Redcross, 53, Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018. On September 13, 1964, “Webb,” as he was so affectionately called, was the sixth child born to the late Thomas and Anne Redcross, of Williamsburg.

For the past 15 years, he was employed with Suburban Disposal Company, of Williamsburg, and previously with Williamsburg Ford.

Welton was a person who embraced life. He loved his family and friends. He never met a stranger. To know him was to love him. Webb loved God, but God loves him best. We find comfort in knowing that God healed Webb from the pain and trials of this world. He now rests with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Walker; sister, Joanne Redcross; uncles, Lawrence and Harry Walker, Welton and Horace Redcross Sr.; and great-uncle, Sam Walker.

He leaves fond memories with his siblings, Annie Ricks (Alvin), Wayne Walker (Bonnie), Warren Walker, Penny Glover (Darryl), Thomasine Piggott (Purcell) and Calvin Redcross; 17 nieces and nephews; 25 great-nieces and great-nephews; three aunts, Dorothy Jefferson, Martha and Joyce Walker; three special friends, Frances, James and Ryan; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at Whiting’s Chapel with the Rev. Morris Randall officiating.

Share online condolences with the family at Whiting’s Funeral Home.
