Elbert ‘Jack’ Jackson, 87, retired from the Virginia Beach Police Department

Elbert “Jack” Jackson, 87, passed away in Virginia Beach. Jack was born in Washington, North Carolina, to the late Robert and Erma Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lewis; and two children, Steven and Terry Jackson.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and later retired from the Virginia Beach Police Department. Jack was also a past president of the Fraternal Order of Police as well. He can best be described as easy going with a humorous personality. He will be truly missed by all.

Jack is survived by his wife, Shirley Jackson; son, Donnie Jackson; and seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 24, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. After the burial, there will a reception to follow the services.
