  • Days after Fenway, a 10-month-old Australian Shepherd, died from injuries his owners say were sustained at a Newport News kennel, area residents marched at the Newport News courthouse. The kennel’s owner had a court hearing scheduled for that morning for another case involving his kennel, which was continued.

  • The Williamsburg-James City County School Board is asking for the community’s assistance in naming the new James Blair Middle School through an online survey after the Virginia Department of Education said it would need to be renamed. The School Board can retain the old name, or choose a new one.
