The Hampton Roads Community Foundation (HRCF) announced today the election of Virginia Beach resident R. Bruce Bradley as its new board chair. Bradley is a retired president of Landmark Consulting Group Inc. Macon F. Brock Jr., chairman of Dollar Tree Inc., was elected vice chair. Jody Wagner, president of Jody’s Inc., was reelected as board treasurer and Deborah M. DiCroce, president and CEO of the HRCF, was reelected as board secretary.
Other new members of the board include G. Robert Aston Jr., chairman and CEO of TowneBank; Thomas R. Frantz, partner and chairman emeritus of Williams Mullen; John R. Lawson II, president and CEO of W.M. Jordan Co.; Miles B. Leon, president and chairman of S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co., and James A. Squires, president, CEO and chairman of Norfolk Southern Corp.
The HRCF manages permanent funds from donors and awards grants to nonprofit organizations and scholarships to students. Through its permanent charitable endowment, the foundation has invested more than $230 million since 1950, according to its web site.
