Tech company relocates to Virginia Beach with plans to add 35 jobs

A tech company has moved to Virginia Beach and said it anticipates hiring an additional 35 employees for its growing headquarters there in the next few years.

Automark Solutions, LLC, a technology company that caters to auto dealers, expects the salaries of those new hires to average $40,000.

The company moved its headquarters from McLean to Virginia Beach in early May. The city’s Economic Development Authority awarded it a $45,000 grant for the move, based on the number of jobs to be created. Automark will make a $35,000 capital investment for the expansion at 208 Golden Oak Court, near I-264 and Lynnhaven Parkway.

“We’ve had the luxury of working out of our garages up until this point,” Vice President Ken Lees said in a phone interview. “So we needed to expand a little bit and become a real company.”

The company provides software to auto dealers that quickly evaluates customers’ purchase options based on credit scores and other information. Automark has 11 employees and plans to add 35 more in the next three years. The new jobs will be in management, customer service, software development and administrative support, according to a release.

Lees, a Virginia Beach native, said the company chose the city because of the lifestyle it offers outside of work. He hopes the location will help attract top-notch talent.

“As we continue to grow, we’re hopeful that we can attract some of the brightest in the area to take advantage of  what our business has to offer as a tech company catering to the automotive industry,” Lees said.
