Michael Lee Thompson passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes at his home on Sunday, March 6, 2016, surrounded by his family at the age of 48. He was born on April 20, 1967, in Virginia Beach.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Grant Thompson. He is survived by his mother, Suzanne Thompson; wife, Tammy; two daughters Skyler and Cameron; and many additional family members and friends.
He was so devoted and passionate with every aspect of his life, whether it be about his family, friends, work, the rooms or the hunt club. He always gave unconditionally. He was a contractor in Virginia Beach for over 20 years. His passions were hunting, fishing, being part of the softball community, going to concerts and watching the Nationals and Redskins games. He was full of life, with a great sense of humor and the ability to fill the room with rolling laughter. He has impacted many lives by giving back what had so freely been given to him. He loved driving his lifted truck down old country roads chasing the sunsets. May this final journey you’re on be filled with the peace those beautiful sunsets gave you.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, with a visitation beginning at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
