Join in the fun – this show is for artists and art lovers alike. From 7 a.m. until 3 p.m., artists will be painting en plein air in Williamsburg during the “Quick Paint” competition. They will join other en plein air artists who have been painting in Williamsburg during the month of September for the “Show and Sell” in the Festival Tent. Judging of the wet paintings will occur at 3 p.m., and will be available for sale from 4-5. Cash prizes of $1,500, $1,000 and $500 will be awarded. Dry paintings will be available for sale all day. Free and open to the public.
A percentage of sales will benefit Housing Partnership, Inc., a non-profit corporation providing emergency home repairs to low-to-moderate income level families.
Artists can participate in two ways, and can register on site:
- Paint en plein air anywhere and bring your completed works to Williamsburg on September 20, 2014 for Show & Sell in the Festival Tent at 331 Duke of Gloucester Street ($30 entry fee).
- Paint en plein air in Williamsburg during the Quick Paint, 7am – 3pm on Saturday, September 20, 2014 ($30 entry fee).
- Participate in both events for a reduced combined entry fee of $50.
