DANBURY, Conn. — William & Mary standout men’s gymnast Zachary Patrick was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Gymnast of the Week following an impressive performance at the Winter Cup.
The honor marks the second consecutive week in which a W&M men’s gymnast has earned the league’s top weekly honor, as Evan Wilkins garnered the distinction last week.
Competing against many of the nation’s top gymnasts, Patrick placed 12th on parallel bars during the opening day of competition at the prestigious meet. En route to defeating 18 other competitors on the apparatus, he posted his second-best score of the season in the event (13.2).
The Virginia Beach, Va., native currently ranks first in the ECAC on parallel bars with a three-score average of 13.3.
W&M will return to action when it competes in a dual meet at Simpson on Sunday at 1 p.m. (CT).
