
WILLIAMSBURG — The Virginia Arts Festival (VAF) has announced a star-studded lineup for 2022’s Williamsburg Live festival.
The three-day outdoor festival, scheduled for June 17-19, 2022 at the Lawn of the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg, will feature Emmy- Grammy-, and Golden Globe-nominated actress, singer, and songwriter Mandy Moore, four-time Grammy Award-winning Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, and country music icon, Martina McBride.
Moore rose to fame with her 1999 debut album, So Real, and is remembered for her 2002 role in the film adaption of the Nicholas Sparks novel, A Walk to Remember. Most recently, Moore is known for her role as Rebecca Pearson in the award-winning NBC drama, “This is Us.” She is scheduled to headline the Williamsburg Live stage on Friday, June 17.
The following night, Americana music icon, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, will headline. Isbell is regarding as one of the best songwriters currently performing, Isbell got his start as a member of the Drive-By Truckers. Today, he plays with the 400 Unit, made up of musicians primarily from the Muscle Shoals, Ala. area. Isbell’s newest album, Georgia Blue, features collaborations with other well-known artists including Bela Fleck, Brandi Carlile, and Chris Thile (who headlined one of the nights of 2021’s Williamsburg Live festival).
Country music legend, Martina McBride, will close out the festival by headlining on June 19. McBride, known for her powerhouse country-pop fusion sound, rose to fame in the 1990s with anthems such as “Broken Wing” and “Independence Day.” She boasts fourteen Gold Records, nine Platinum honors, three Double Platinum Records, and two Triple Platinum Awards. McBride also has fifteen music awards and fourteen Grammy Award nominations.
Aside from an incredible lineup of music, Williamsburg Live will also feature food from local food trucks and craft beers from regional breweries. Before the concerts, guests are encouraged to explore the the unique shopping and dining opportunities in the Colonial Williamsburg area.
