JAMES CITY COUNTY — On Saturday, June 11, James City County Parks & Recreation is hosting its Capital Color Ride.

Similar to The Color Run events, this family-friendly activity will see participants riding along a 15-mile stretch along the Virginia Capital Trail while encountering color stops. The route starts at the Chickahominy Riverfront Park (1350 John Tyler Highway), then participants will ride to the James City County Marina (2054 Jamestown Road) before circling back to the finish line at Chickahominy Riverfront Park.

Also along the route, there will be rest stops, snacks, water, and more.

The Capital Color Ride will include all age groups including 6 and older as well as a group for those 5 and younger.

Registration is $10 through May 13; $15 following that date. The registration fee includes a free t-shirt, race bibs and refreshments (while supplies last). On race day, participants are encouraged to socially distance with staggered start times of 9 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 10 a.m. This measure is taken in order to decrease traffic volume at color stops. Each of the stages is limited to only 75 participants.
