Brandon Joseph Lenzini, 40, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on August 16, 2026. He was born July 12, 1986, to Sheryl and Joe Lenzini.
Brandon was never meant for a quiet, ordinary life. He was a free spirit in every sense of the word: curious, independent, adventurous, and happiest when he was surrounded by good friends, good music, nature, and whatever experience came next.
Not long after high school, Brandon packed up and headed west to California with friends, where he spent time honing his skills, learning, growing, and figuring life out in his own way. Brandon was never afraid to follow his interests wherever they took him.
He had a serious green thumb and loved gardening, especially hydroponics. Growing things came naturally to him, and being around plants and nature was simply part of who he was. After 15 years, Brandon returned home to Ocean View.
And then there was Satori.
Brandon’s beloved pit bull was far more than a pet. For 12 years, Satori was his sidekick, best friend, constant companion, and family. Wherever Brandon’s life went, Satori was part of it. They were each other’s everything. Satori passed away just a couple years before Brandon, and anyone who knew the two of them knew how enormous that loss was.
Brandon is survived by his parents, Sheryl and Joe Lenzini; his brother, Scott; his niece, Ryleigh; his nephew, Jaxon; his aunt, Tanya Locks of North Carolina; his uncle, Jeff Lynch of New Hampshire; his uncle, John Lenzini of Illinois; and more friends than could ever reasonably be listed here.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his uncle, Lee; his aunt, Becky; and, most recently, his beloved Satori.
Brandon lived life his own way. He loved hard, made friends everywhere, followed his curiosity, grew beautiful things, chased good music, spent his time near the water whenever he could, and never seemed particularly interested in fitting himself into anyone else’s idea of who he was supposed to be.
That is exactly how he will be remembered.
A casual gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
Come as you are. Share a story, laugh about something Brandon did, remember a concert, a day at the bay, a plant he grew, or one of the countless moments that made him Brandon. This will be a time for the people who loved him to simply be together and celebrate a life that was very much lived.
