Mitchell D. Berry was born 04/05/1962, in Virginia, where he lived the majority of his life. He died during the “Buck Moon”, on 07/29/2026, after suffering a major heart attack earlier in the week.
Mitchell proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Firefighter from July 23, 1982 to July 22, 1985 .Those who knew him admired his stubborn character and generous heart. Mitchell’s greatest pride was his family. He is lovingly survived by his sons, Samuel, Robert, and Allen Berry, and his daughters, Alexis Berry and Chynna Berry. He also leaves behind his brothers, Gene and Steven.
Mitchell was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life. Nothing meant more to him than hearing them call him “Paw Paw”. Though he will be deeply missed, his example of service, resilience, and love will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
The family will receive friends 1PM Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140, with a Celebration of Life and Military Honors beginning at 2PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory. Interment will be private.
