Elijah Kerry Garrison, born on January 5, 1998, in the heart of Arkansas, passed away suddenly and tragically on July 25, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 28. While his time with us was tragically short, Elijah’s impact on those who knew him will endure forever.
Elijah served as an electrician in the United States Navy, where his dedication to duty was matched only by his unwavering commitment to his fellow sailors. He was a beacon of hope, embodying a spirit of camaraderie and resilience that inspired all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
With a heart as big as his smile, Elijah spread warmth and joy wherever he went. Known for being well-intended, albeit lovingly annoying at times, he had the remarkable ability to uplift others simply by being himself. A passionate fan of anime, the Minnesota Vikings and the Arkansas Razorbacks, Elijah found joy in life’s simple pleasures and shared that joy generously with those around him.
Though not a churchgoer, Elijah was undeniably a man of faith, carrying within him a deep understanding of life’s greater purpose. Above all, he was a devoted son, brother, grandson, nephew, sailor, and friend. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Preceded in death by his beloved sister Charlotte, Elijah leaves behind an adoring family and countless friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Surviving him are his parents, Marlena and Tavio, Sr.; siblings Rachel, Dante, Tavio, Jr., Quantira, and Shawna; paternal grandmother Ann; maternal grandparents Jacqueline and Henry, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His beloved Navy family as well as friends from Minneapolis, Virginia, and Arkansas also mourn his loss deeply.
Elijah’s mother, family, and close friends wish more than anything for their beloved Elijah to remain in their lives, yet they find solace in the memories of love and laughter he generously gave. Services to honor Elijah’s life will be scheduled at a later time, allowing those who loved him to gather and celebrate the remarkable person he was.
