Aunt Trina K. Robertson, beloved by all who knew her, passed away on the morning of July 27, 2026, at her home in Newport News, Virginia. For 65 years, she lived as a good and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, and her faith was evident to everyone she met.
Aunt Trina’s heart was full of love—for the Lord, her cherished cat Daniel Robertson, her sister Bonnie (her dog Emma), and her “baby boys,” her nephews Andrew (with his wife Tiffany) and Zachary (with his wife Paige). She had a generous spirit that extended to all five of her grand-nieces and nephews: Jackson, Savannah, Sage, Michael, and Oliver, whom she loved and adored.
A dedicated member of Light of Hope United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach, Aunt Trina filled her days with Bible study, crafting, family gatherings, rooting on her Denver Broncos, and thoughtful calls to check on friends and family. She became something of a legend for her exquisite Christmas cards, a cherished tradition among those who received them. Throughout her career, Aunt Trina worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Newport News Public School System, retiring after many years of service at Denbigh Early Childhood Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Kemp, and her brother-in-law, David Smith.
A memorial service celebrating Aunt Trina’s life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Light of Hope United Methodist Church, 208 S Plaza Trail, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
