Kenneth Edward Stuck, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away on June 30, 2026, in Newport News, Virginia. He was born on November 10, 1967, in Richmond, Virginia, and lived a life full of achievement and dedication before leaving us at the age of 58.

Ken’s journey was one of relentless curiosity and boundless enthusiasm for learning. He graduated from the Henrico County public school system before earning a Bachelor’s degree from Mary Washington College and a Master’s degree from the College of William and Mary. His academic pursuits laid the foundation for his impactful career as an archaeologist and later as an environmental planner for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

An ardent lover of history, archaeology, and historical preservation, Ken found joy in the stories of the past, while his work helped shape a better future for generations to come. Ken’s interests were as diverse as they were deep. His love for golf, college basketball and football, and baseball was well-known among friends and family. He cherished everything Disney and had an enduring passion for Star Trek, NASA, the space program, and Star Wars. A true science fiction aficionado, Ken found both escape and inspiration in the stories amongst our solar system.

His dedication extended beyond work and hobbies to his community, where he made a lasting impact. Ken volunteered with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and was a constant presence at all of his children’s events and activities. As a supporter and former member of the Society for Historical Archaeology, he shared his love of history with many, and his participation in the fantasy baseball league known as The Rivah League brought joy and camaraderie to his life.

Ken is preceded in death by his father, Albert E. Stuck, Sr. He is survived by his loving mother, Jean C. Stuck; his beloved wife, Wendy; his brothers, Bert (Lori) and David; his son, Joshua; his daughter, Eleanor (Nicole); and a host of nephews, nieces, and cherished extended family and friends. Each of these relationships was a testament to Ken’s generous spirit and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Services to celebrate Ken’s life will be on July 9th, 2026, 3:00 PM, at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Denbigh Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory can be made to the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, reflecting his lifelong commitment to giving back to the community.

Kenneth Edward Stuck’s legacy is one of inspiration and love, of a man who embraced life fully and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will continue to guide and inspire us, reminding us that a life of passion, love, and service is a life well-lived.
