Irene Clare Minnick was born on August 11th, 1942 to Mary Catherine Smith and James Cyril Merriman. She passed away peacefully at home on July 2nd, 2026. She married William Henry “Bill” Minnick on July 7th, 1962.
She worked as an ICU/CCU Medical Secretary at Parma Hospital for many years. She was known among family and friends as an amateur painter and her family shares many fond memories of her playing classical piano. Irene was also known for her ability to keep her favorite flower, the purple iris, in bloom in her garden and she was a fan of hummingbirds.
Irene is survived by her four children; Linda Reynolds, Brian Minnick (Cynthia), Chris Minnick (Amy), and Colleen Peucker (Timothy); 9 grandchildren, Anthony Minnick (Jennelle), Michael Minnick (Rachael), Liam Reynolds (Amy), Brianna Minnick, Robert Reynolds, Tracy Peucker, Craig Minnick, Sean Peucker and Blake Minnick; and her two great grandchildren, Alice Minnick and Samuel Minnick. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Merriman. Irene was also blessed to have a brand new great grandchild on the way.
Irene is predeceased by her late husband, William Henry “Bill” Minnick who passed on June 14th in 2024. Together they shared 62 years of marriage together and are now reuniting and returning to their beloved home, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on August 1st, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Christ the King Vineyard Church Youth Center located at 30635 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Bill.
