Grace Catherine Jones, 91, of Virginia Beach

Grace Catherine Jones, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many with her unwavering kindness and selflessness, passed peacefully on March 13, 2025, in her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on June 3, 1933, in Manhattan, she lived in Grymes Hill, Staten Island, NY until her and husband Bobby retired and moved to Virginia Beach in 1986. Grace lived a full and meaningful life, reaching the age of 91.

Grace is survived by her daughters Tricia Chiusano, and Eileen Lustig, sons-in-law, Peter Chiusano and David Lustig, her grandchildren Elaina, Madison, Michelle, David, Lindsay, Lisa, Lauren, Nicole, her great grandchildren, Bobby and Elle and her beloved nieces and nephews. She is now reunited in heaven with her husband Robert “Bobby” Jones and her daughter Cathy Johnstone.

Grace spent her professional years on Wall Street, working diligently for a banking and brokerage firm. Her calm and pleasant demeanor was a beacon in the bustling financial district, where she became known for her ever-present smile and her ability to listen with genuine interest and care. She looked forward to her rides home on the Staten Island ferry with friends where she enjoyed many happy hours.

Grace found great joy in simple pleasures such as reading, listening to music, and baking cakes and pies for family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening where she nurtured not only plants but also the souls of those around her with the same tender care. She was known for her extreme kindness, never having a bad thing to say about anyone.

A devout Catholic, Grace’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was actively involved in her church community and dedicated much of her time to helping others through Meals on Wheels and the church garden club which embody her belief that service to others was important.

Grace had many roles in her life, but by far her most cherished parts were that of wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished by all who knew her. Her spirit lives in the hearts of those she touched with her extraordinary kindness and love. Her legacy is one of gratitude, grace, and love- a testament to a well-lived life

A service to honor Grace’s life is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, located at 712 Little Neck Rd #5807, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23452.
