Beloved Nita, born Bonita Evans on February 16, 1968, in Norfolk, blossomed into a compassionate soul who touched the lives of many. On April 4, 2024, in Virginia Beach, she peacefully transitioned, leaving a legacy that will forever be cherished.
Nita’s nurturing spirit and dedication to helping others shone brightly through her work as a Social worker and case worker. Her kindness and empathy knew no bounds, making a positive impact in the lives of those she encountered. One thing about Nita, whatever she didn’t say to you at that time, it will show on her face. She never sugar coated the truth.
In her leisure time, Nita found joy in pursuing various interests such as baking delicious treats, making banana pudding for her uncles, tending to her garden, exploring thrift shops for hidden treasures, providing guidance through counseling, finding solace in watching scary movies, and spreading laughter wherever she went. As a devoted daughter, sister, and mother, Nita treasured moments spent with her family, creating cherished memories that will endure through time. Her presence brought warmth and joy to all those around her.
Nita is now reunited in peace with her father, John Jasper Evans, her grandparents, and her great nephew Zion Adams.
She leaves two brothers William S Taylor Sr. (Talisha), John J Evans III (Audrey), three sisters Alfreda Adams, Marika Powers, Ursuala Cooper, seven nieces, Jessica, Marqueana, Bria, Chelsea, Courtney, Miracle, Samara, and five nephews, Marcus, William Jr., Malik, Sincere, John IIII, nine great nieces and nephews, one great, great, great, nephew, two godchildren, Jermey and Kyana Greely, including her dear mother Hattie Beatrice Evan’s and a host of relatives and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Nita’s unwavering love, generosity, and laughter will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in eternal peace, dear Nita.
