In loving memory of Constance Louetta Amos, a remarkable soul whose warmth and kindness touched countless lives.
Constance, known affectionately as Connie, graced this world on April 3, 1953, and peacefully departed on April 11, 2024. Born alongside her twin sister, Debbie, in Baltimore, MD, Connie’s life journey was marked by a deep connection to family and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Growing up in a military household, she traveled across Europe, living in France and Germany.
Connie was involved in F.B.L.A. serving as secretary, the Steering Committee, and College Prep while attending Dundalk Senior High School in Baltimore receiving the Dundalk Faculty Scholarship to pursuing higher education at the University of Maryland, Munich campus.
Connie married her love in Mannheim, Germany, together, they welcomed their son Earl Amos into the world. After moving to Newport News she worked at Ft. Monroe in civil service for the Department of Defense logistics division for 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Denbigh, joining the choir then moved on and became a member to New Livingstone Christian Church.
To know Connie was to know of her reliability and always being on time! She was dedicated to being there for others whether it was lending a listening ear or offering a helping hand, Connie’s presence was of comfort and support to all who crossed her path.
She leaves behind the cherished memories of her loving son, Earl Amos; baby sister, Candace Cherry; loyal friend, Cynthia McMillon; grandchildren; Nyja, Sasha, and Malachi Amos; great-granddaughter, Si’Nya; nephews, Malachi, Anthony and Lonnie Hines, and niece Bianca Cherry along with cousins, friends of family and extended family. Connie reunites with her dear mother, Edna Cherry (July, 2023), father, Lonnie Cherry (September, 2018), and twin sister, Debra Hines (July, 2020).
