Robert (Bob) Hill, passed away peacefully at his home on November 5, 2023 in Virginia Beach, at the age of 89. Bob was born March 7, 1934 in Cudahy, Wisconsin. He graduated from Cudahy High School in 1951 where he entered the United States Air Force and retired in 1972. Bob then went to work for the United States Navy as a Government Contractor traveling all over the world until retiring in 1986.
In 1957 Bob met the love of his life, Christiane Lepoittevin, while he was stationed in Paris, France where they married in January 1959. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 139 and Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church. His hobbies included golfing, painting and crossword puzzles. He found great joy in his hobbies and spending time with family and friends. He cherished the moments he shared with his loved ones.
In addition to his loving wife, Christiane, Bob is survived by two daughters, Babette Hurlbert and husband Joe of Chesapeake; Deborah Glymph and husband Kenny of Virginia Beach; two granddaughters, Ashley Norvell of Moyock and Lindsey Hurlbert of Chesapeake; and four great-grandchildren, Elliot & Laine Norvell and Reid & River Naugle.
He was the son of the late Harry Hill, Sr. and Elizabeth Hill. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry & Richard Hill and two sisters, Betty & Charlotte.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was affectionately known as “Grandad” to all who loved him. May his love and light shine brightly in our hearts always.
The arrangements are being handled by Altmeyer Funeral Home. There will be a private memorial service with honors at Princess Anne Memorial Park.
