Tek Swan Sie, a dedicated Master Chef known for his culinary expertise, unexpectedly passed away on November 24, 2023, in Virginia Beach, VA. Born on March 21, 1939, in Indonesia, Tek Swan Sie lived a fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of culinary delights. He was 84 years old at the time of his passing.

After completing his high school education, Tek Swan Sie embarked on a journey that took him from Indonesia to Singapore and eventually to the United States, where he settled.

Throughout his professional career, Tek Swan Sie dedicated himself to perfecting his craft in the kitchen. Working tirelessly seven days a week, he honed his skills as a Chef at the esteemed Royal Gardens.

When Tek Swan Sie wasn’t immersed in the world of gourmet cuisine, he enjoyed moments of rest, seeking respite from his demanding schedule. Watching Chinese movies provided him with entertainment and relaxation. Additionally, he had a profound love for fried chicken, savoring its flavors whenever he had the opportunity.

In his personal life, Tek Swan Sie held dear his wife, Sien Hwa Si, who was his confidant and partner in every stage of his journey. Together, they created a nurturing home environment for their family.

Tek Swan Sie’s legacy also extends to his daughter, Mee Williamson, his granddaughter Sienna Williamson, and his nephew, Tek Sieng Sie, residing in Philadelphia. Relatives from overseas, who were an integral part of his life, mourn the loss of a beloved family member and friend. Not to be forgotten are Tek Swan Sie’s feline companions, Smokey and MoMo, who brought him joy and companionship over the years.

Services honoring Tek Swan Sie’s life will be at 11 a.m. on December 21, 2023 at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Southside Chapel. It is a time for friends and family to gather, pay their respects, and reminisce about the cherished moments shared with a man whose culinary creations brought joy to so many.
