Michael David Padalino, age 57, of Newport News, VA passed away on January 21, 2023.
A devoted father to Sophia, Michael spent many years as a Special Education Teacher and champion, most recently at Newport News Public Schools. Michael was born to parents Paul and Sophie Padalino and was raised alongside his brother Paul in Port Jefferson Station, NY, where he was surrounded by his cousins and friends. Michael graduated from Long Island University Post where he played lacrosse, and he later earned his masters’ degree from Dowling University. He was an avid skier and enjoyed several years in Quechee, VT as a teacher, coach, and ski instructor before moving to VA where he and Tammy brought Sophia Rose into the world. He enjoyed skiing, biking, and his dogs, but his greatest joy was being Sophia’s Dad.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Sophia and her mother, Tammy Padalino; brother, and his wife, Paul and Catherine Padalino and their children, Paul, Christine, and Kelly; and his beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Hwy, Port Jefferson Station, New York 11776. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the funeral home.
