On January 18, 2023, For his purpose and in his own way, GOD came into our family and swept away our beloved Queen Hundley Freeman, at Bon Secour Mary Immaculate Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 9, 1957, the daughter of the late Junious and Queen Hundley, in Williamsburg, Virginia.
‘Neicey,” as she was affectionately called, was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools. At an early age, she confessed her faith in Christ and joined Zion Baptist Church, in Lightfoot, VA. She was employed at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and Eastern State Hospital. During her spare time, Neicey loved to talk on the phone and make people laugh. Her passion was reading and writing.
Queen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Freeman Sr., and son, Richard Freeman Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories her stepdaughter, Michelle; granddaughter, Taquala; grandson, Taquan; great-grandchildren, Tobias, Skye, M’Lahni, M’Layah, Lamont Jr., and Mamyah; sisters, Deacon Esther D. Hatfield, Gloria Chinea (Bonifacio), Cora Cowles, and Lena Harrod; special loving friend, Kevin Morris; close friends, Bobby and Aurey Knight; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives that she loved and cherished with all of her heart.
A service to celebrate Queen’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Freeman may be viewed on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of her service in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required.
