KING WILLIAM — Edith Catherine Revere Fletcher of King William, VA willingly accepted her Savior’s invitation to come home on February 20, 2022.
She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Susie Revere.
Edith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all, who found joy in the simple things in life. She enjoyed and took pride in being a homemaker, was a great cook, and loved her cats. Like the Apostle Paul, she learned to be content in whatever state she was in. Edith was easy to love and loved everybody. In the last seven years, she resided at Riverside Convalescent Center in Mathews County where she loved to sing and received wonderful love and care.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Wray Fletcher. She is survived by her children Martha Fletcher, Bobby Fletcher Jr., David Fletcher (Robin) and Wayne Fletcher; five grandchildren Amy Harmon, Alan Michael, Brian, Steven and Kevin Fletcher; and six great grandchildren. Edith also had a faithful sister-in-law, Shirley Williams, who was such a blessing to Edith and stayed in constant contact throughout her illness. The family would also like to give a special “thanks” to Donna Britt, who made so many sacrifices to care for Edith during the early stages of her illness.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 23rd at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181 with interment in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
