On Tuesday, May 28, 2019, God in His almighty power called home for eternal rest, our beloved, Stephanie Marie Taylor. She slipped away to be with her Lord and Savior in her home in Newport News. Her life’s journey began Feb. 14, 1973, the daughter of Barbara Tyler Taylor and the late Stanford Taylor.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined New Zion Baptist Church. In 1991, she graduated from Lafayette High School. After graduating, she continued her education and graduated from Thomas Nelson Community College. She also graduated from Virginia School of Hair Design. She had a wonderful relationship with everyone she came in contact with.
Stephanie was such a joy and inspiration to all who knew her. She had a very positive attitude and a strong will to live. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. All thru her illness, she endured it with dignity and courage, never complaining. She fought hard and proved her strength time and time again. She had a strong faith in God, which was her salvation. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. We find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior. Sleep on dear one, and take your well-deserved rest. We will always carry the memories of you close within our hearts.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Benita Tyler. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her son, Nasir Carrington; mother, Barbara Tyler Taylor; sisters, Monica Tyler, LuKeshia Wallace, Tanya Taylor, Marie Taylor, Natashia Taylor and Thomasine Taylor; loving brother, Milton Jones; aunts, Rose Jones and Barbara Walton; uncle, Wardell Wallace (Alease); foster sister, Adrienne Saunders; lifetime companion, Nelvin Carrington; nieces, Tamecia, Nyeesha, Aniya, Syniya and Anyonna; nephews, Elden, Joseph, Jason, Deshaun, Tariq, Omarion, Sincre, Malik, Trejan, De’Avonte and Jarmir; great-nephew, Kylair; godchildren, Lashara Dunn, and her baby son, Noah, Latria Nesbitt and Halo Morris; her special friends, Katrina Wallace, LaKeisha Melvin, Sarah Walker-Jones, Theresa Fletcher, Thia Shanks-Smith, Antoinette Williams, Angie Smith, Dinah Morris, Erica Washington, Maria Tyler, Ebony Carrington, Brenda Henry and Latoya Carrington-White; and all the many loving and caring friends she met throughout her lifetime.
