Steven John Plarr, 62, of Newport News, was taken from us too soon by a terrible disease, frontotemporal lobe dementia, on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019.
He graduated from Kutztown University and pursued a career in telecommunications as a video editor. He loved sailing and spending time on the water or at the beach with his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Albert and Joan Plarr of Allentown, Pennsylvania; his loving wife, Becky Ann Hess Plarr; mother-in-law, Dorothy Hess of Newport News; son, Maxwell, and daughter-in-law, Kerstin “Lexy” Plarr, of Hampton; sister, Debbie Schultz of Reading, Pennsylvania; and many other family members in Pennsylvania.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at Hampton Yacht Club, 4707 Victoria Blvd., Hampton.
The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Medi Hospice, Berkeley Oaks in Williamsburg, and Dr. Jacob Almeida for all of their support and care.
