Claudette Richardson Hedgepeth, 70, of Virginia Beach, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk.
Claudette was born May 15, 1948, to the late Alexander and Lizzie Richardson in Hollister, North Carolina. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God for over 20 years, where she was an intercessor, a member of the Women’s Ministry and served in the Children’s Ministry.
She retired from Chesapeake General Hospital after 20 years of service. Claudette continued to work after retirement and was employed at Virginia Eye Consultants, where she had worked for over 10 years.
Left to cherish her memories are her beloved husband of 48 years, Oliver Hedgepeth; two daughters, Tanya (Henry) Rengifo and Stacey (Ben) Gage, both of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Tatyana Olivia Rengifo, Henry Manuel Rengifo Jr., Brenden Ray Gage and Sianna Rue Gage, all of Virginia Beach; goddaughter, Courtney Rudd of Chesapeake; three sisters, Thelma (Donzell-deceased) Lynch of Chesapeake, Emily (Henry) Evans of Battleboro, North Carolina, and Sandra Lynch of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Willie Richardson of Louisburg, North Carolina, Coleman (Loretta) Richardson of Hollister, North Carolina, and Stanley (Curtee) Richardson of Enfield, North Carolina; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Lelah Hedgpeth of Hollister, North Carolina; along with extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Richardson of Hollister, North Carolina.
Visitation services will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 3445 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Friday, Sept. 28, with a funeral immediately following visitation at Calvary Assembly of God, 4925 Providence Road, Virginia Beach.
