Rev. Lawrence Dale Wanner, 85, husband of Joyce Wanner of Williamsburg, died Saturday morning, Sept. 8, 2018, at the James River Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Newport News. He went to his heavenly home peacefully at 12:41 a.m.
Born in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Stanley R. and Emma M. Wanner.
He graduated from Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, Massachusetts, with degrees AB/religion and ThB in theology. He went on for Bachelor of Divinity degree at Nazarene Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. He was an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene for 30 years. He was an avid reader, loved music and very devoted to his family.
Surviving are his son, Dale M.; daughters, Lynn C. Puccio of Williamsburg and Merle L. Ramsey of Carrollton; four grandchildren, Bethany, Amy, Trevor and Jared; and five great-grandchildren, Raychel, Graycie, Colton, John and Natalie.
Viewing hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Bucktrout Funeral Home; friends and relatives are invited to attend. Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, in Williamsburg Memorial Park.
