Marvin Ray Carroll Jr., 59, found his second home at Garrett Johnson Inc.

Marvin Ray Carroll Jr., 59, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, in Virginia Beach. Marvin was born June 18, 1959, to Marvin and Ruth Carroll in Virginia Beach. He was a graduate of First Colonial High School in Virginia Beach.

Marvin was a true beach local as he never missed a day at Mary’s. He truly loved hanging out with his friends at Oceana Muffler, where he became their expert grill master. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and anything to do with working on engines. He found a second home at Garrett Johnson Inc., where he was able to continue his love of flying by flying drones. Marvin was truly a jokester, but in times of need, you could always count on him.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Ray Carroll and Ruth Carroll.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Robert Carroll; sister, Lori; three daughters, Brittany, Hollie and Elizabeth (Lorenzo); great-nephew, Carl; great-niece, Everly; and brother, Kenneth Carroll (Marcey), and their children, Kenneth, Nick, Jordan, Serena and Amber. He also leaves behind dear friends, Eddie Chaplain (Jeanie), and their son, Wilson, Ricky Chaplain and Ernie Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach. After the memorial, friends and family will gather for a celebration of life at 212 Rudee Ave., home of Garrett Johnson.
