Elva Elizabeth McCoy, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 24, 2018.
Mrs. McCoy was born in Norfolk in 1931 and resided most of her life in Virginia Beach. She attended Brook Baptist Church for many years and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She married her late husband, Herman Marshall McCoy, in 1947 and was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Saunders and Annie McBride Saunders; son, Timothy Patrick; and grandson, Scott Marshall McCoy.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph M. McCoy, and his wife, Yvonne, Herman Mark McCoy Jr., and Shane Marshall McCoy; seven grandchildren, Joseph McCoy Jr., Lisa Hickey, Stephanie Cloutier, Tracie McCoy, Kayla McCoy, Paige McCoy and Taylor McCoy; 11 great- grandchildren, Joshua Hickey, Jacob Hickey, Chase Cloutier, Sadie Cloutier, Joseph (Trey) McCoy III, Corynn McCoy, Piper McCoy, Patrick McCoy, Peyton Hinkle, Preston Hinkle and Harley Gudac; and sister, Judy Elliott, and her husband, Harvey.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 29, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, where a celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
